Wildcatter Activities Information:

DAY OF ARRIVAL

  • Wildcatter is best enjoyed for at least two nights. Due to cancellation, the nature of livestock husbandry and our wrangler's days, activities cannot be booked on the “day of arrival” to prevent late arrivals and no-shows from impacting other guests’ experiences

  • Enjoy our hiking trails, pool, and sand volleyball/tetherball on your arrival day, or spend time in our Ranch Library in the Steakhouse to soak up some of our local history and schedule your activities after your first night at the Ranch

FAMILIES

  • The nature of our activities and property lends itself to vacations for groups with kids over 10 so they can enjoy the trail rides.

  • Between 3-10 years old, kids can enjoy pony rides, feeding the longhorns at 9 am, jeep ride, horse grooming, the pool and hot tub, and hiking our many trails and enjoying the boulders and nature. Wildcatter is about slowing down and just being outside.

  • Pick up our scat-scavenger hunt at the front desk! Kids enjoy hunting and learning on the trails, and then they get free ice cream at dinner with a completed booklet.

WRANGLERS & GRATUITY

The cowboys and cowgirls helping you experience Wildcatter with our activities are full-time locals. We do not employ seasonal, non-locals. These are real Texans who live and work near by and can’t wait to show you what we’re all about! Due to the unpredictable nature of busy and slow days at the resort, an automatic 20% gratuity is added to each activity. Gratuity goes straight to the Wranglers.

Dust off your boots and unleash your inner cowboy!

*6.75 % Sales Tax and 20% Gratuity are added to the below prices.

Feed the Longhorns

9 am | Complementary

Every day at 9 a.m., the wranglers feed the Longhorns at the Wildcatter entrance! Adults and kids alike love getting to feed them, and they get great photos and laughs. It's free to enjoy daily.

Longhorns are animals! If they are too full on green summer grass, they may snooze through their 9 a.m. feeding—we’re sorry if the herd doesn’t show.

Hiking

You'll encounter everything from impressive boulders to roots, climbs to descents, flats to winding turns, and a cedar canopy to open grassland. “Just ninety minutes from DFW International Airport and right around the corner from Possum Kingdom Lake, this trail system is one of the best around.” Ultra Expeditions / Experience various levels across our many hiking and mountain biking trails!
