Resort Amenities at Wildcatter Ranch & Resort
The Best Things in Life are Free (and on the Ranch)
At Wildcatter Ranch and Resort, we believe the true ranch experience is found in the moments between the activities. While we offer world-class guided adventures, we take great pride in providing our overnight guests with a variety of complimentary amenities designed for relaxation, exploration, and a touch of Texas tradition.
As a guest staying on property, the following experiences listed below are included in your stay.
PS — Ready for more adventure? Check out our Guided Activities like Trail Rides, Clay Shooting, and Archery to round out your stay!
🐂 Morning Longhorn Feeding
A Texas Tradition. Every morning, we invite our guests to join us for one of our favorite daily rituals: feeding our iconic Texas Longhorns. It’s a chance to get up close and personal with these legendary animals, take some incredible photos, and start your day with a true connection to the land.
Longhorns are animals! If they are too full on green summer grass, they may snooze through their 9 a.m. feeding—we’re sorry if the herd doesn’t show.
🥾 Miles of Hiking Trails
With over 1,500 acres of rugged terrain, the ranch is yours to explore. Our private hiking trails wind through mountain-top plateaus and down toward the river. Whether you’re an avid hiker or just looking for a peaceful morning stroll, the diverse North Texas landscape offers something new around every bend.
You'll encounter everything from impressive boulders to roots, climbs to descents, flats to winding turns, and a cedar canopy to open grassland.
“Just ninety minutes from DFW International Airport and right around the corner from Possum Kingdom Lake, this trail system is one of the best around.” Ultra Expeditions / Experience various levels across our many hiking and mountain biking trails!
🏊 The Pool & Hot Tub
Soak in the View. Perched on the edge of the plateau, our pool and hot tub offer some of the most stunning panoramic views in North Texas. Whether you are taking a refreshing dip in the summer heat or soaking in the hot tub under a blanket of Texas stars, it is the perfect place to unwind and let the Brazos River breeze reset your soul.
Pool & Hot Tub
Open day 7am-10pm | Pool is NOT heated
Hot Tub heated on request!
Please let the front desk know in the morning if you would like to use it that evening
🎲 The Hotel Game Room & Lobby
Don't forget to visit the main hotel lobby, where we encourage you to slow down and stay a while! Our guests have full access to:
Billiards/Pool Table 🎱
Poker Tables 🃏
Board Games & Puzzles 🎲
It’s not uncommon to walk in and see families gathered around a deck of cards or a game of pool—this is where "guests become friends" and memories are made.
🎣 The Bass Tank and Brazos River Fishing
Cast a Line. Looking for a little quiet time? Head over to our bass tank. This "catch and release" spot is perfect for guests who want to enjoy the serenity of the ranch with a fishing pole in hand. It’s a great way to introduce the kids to fishing or for seasoned anglers to enjoy a few peaceful casts before dinner.
Bring your poles and bait! Or we have basic poles and tackle to use; check it out at the front deks.
You’re welcome to hike in, about .5 mile walk, or you’ll need an SUV/truck to make it down the off-road trail to the bass tank.
See the map or ask the front desk for directions!
Guests can also access the Brazos River for fishing. You will need a Fishing License to fish public waterways/Brazos River. Ask for directions from the Wranglers to the secret spot!
Fire Pits
Enjoy a fire pit at the Steakhouse Patio for a great view!
Buy s'mores kits from the hostess stand to make it really fun.

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Wildcatter Ranch and Resort is a very large property, you will need a car to enjoy it. The horse barn where most activities take place is in the valley, while the Steakhouse and Lodging are up on the mountain top whereas the distance is not walkable.
Breakfast and Dinner are served daily, but Wildcatter Steakhouse is not open for lunch outside of pre-ordered boxed lunches received two weeks in advance.
You will want to enjoy the small town of Graham, TX (15 minutes away) for lunch and shopping for antiques and local goods. Mineral Wells and Possum Kingdom Lake are also nearby and great places to shop, eat and find some fun activities.
