Clay target shooting has its roots in the old sporting tradition of shooting game birds. Before modern clay targets, hunters and sportsmen practiced their aim with live birds, eventually giving way to artificial targets that could offer a more consistent and repeatable challenge. In Texas, shooting has long been part of outdoor and ranch culture, from hunting and sport shooting to friendly competitions among friends. Today, clay target shooting keeps that tradition going in a more controlled setting, giving you a chance to step up, take aim, and see what you’ve got.
