Saddle up and join our experienced trail guides as they take you on a beautiful trail ride at Wildcatter Ranch and Resort in the North Texas Hill Country with the Palo Pinto Mountains as the backdrop. You will have a view of the Brazos River and for some rides you will venture down to the river to see what that type of river valley ecosystem looks like, then up on the ridge and back down over the forested mountainside on your return to the horse barn. You’ll ride at a relaxed walking pace, making this a great horse riding experience for first-timers and experienced riders alike.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Riders must be at least 10 years old. An adult must accompany riders under 16. Each ride is limited to 10 horses, and there’s a 250-pound weight limit per rider.
For generations, horseback was the way to get around Texas. Ranchers covered miles of rugged country from the saddle, cowboys moved cattle across open range, and horses gave riders a way to travel through terrain that could be tough to cross on foot. The landscape was bigger, the roads were fewer, and a good horse could take you just about anywhere you needed to go.
